What is Via Colori?
Via Colori Street Painting Festival
At The Big Four Bridge Lawn in Waterfront Park
Via Colori® Kentucky is a festival in which hundreds of artists, community organizations, vendors, and partners come together to host the most creative festival in Kentucky. The festival was in the Elizabethtown area for almost a decade and moved to Louisville in 2017.
Over 150 artists participate with the intent of making an artistic masterpiece on a large scale, directly on the sidewalks of Waterfront Park in Louisville.
Via Colori is a free family and pet friendly event.
Via Colori will feature live music, bounce house, kid friendly activities, food trucks, a food court, street performers, cosplay and costumed characters, and of course, street art.
Via Colori® Kentucky is part of a series of street painting festivals held throughout the United States. It is a celebration of art and creativity in which a family of artists and volunteers come together to encourage the community at large to value and appreciate the arts. All proceeds from Via Colori® Kentucky directly benefits the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana. Your participation gives the gift of opportunity – a chance for girls to develop the skills that will benefit them the most and have the experiences that encourage them to be courageous and confident.

Henri Matisse once said, “Creativity takes courage.” This quote has become a staple of the Kentucky Via Colori Street Painting Festival over the last seven years. Today we are embracing that quote in a new way. We are delighted to announce that Via Colori is coming back to the Louisville Waterfront for 2023.
We are moving forward with the plan to host the festival on the third weekend of October. Our team is working furiously to make this a reality. We hope to see you there!
Via Colori is truly the most creative festival in Kentuckiana. We have over 150 street painting artists that donate their time to help the festival meet its goal of enriching and supporting the community while raising much need funds for a charitable organization. There are sponsors, vendors, musicians, volunteers, and attendees that dedicate time, energy, and funds to make this event happen every year. We never want to lose sight of that legacy.
We are thrilled to announce that Via Colori® will continue to support the efforts of Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana. Investing in girls will change the world. Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana provides leadership opportunities and outcome-based programming to more than 10,000 members, throughout their 64 counties in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Supporting Via Colori will help to benefit every Girl Scout in the council by providing needed resources, programs, and support. Your participation gives the gift of opportunity – a chance for girls to develop vital skills and to have experiences that encourage them to be courageous and confident.
When girls are given the opportunity, incredible things happen. We have the reach and experience, and with your support, every Kentuckiana girl will have the opportunity to become someone amazing!
In addition to all the awesome that is Via Colori, we want to let you know that we will still be helping our local communities in profound ways. Hope’s Closet, which benefits foster children, will still be actively involved in the festival. We will still work with local charities, organizations, animal rescues, and community resource programs to bring hope and help to our community in authentic ways.
We can’t wait for the third weekend in October!
